Overview
Imagine an immersive photographic safari designed specifically for hobbyists who want to sharpen their wildlife photography skills while enjoying the stunning landscapes of Ndutu – NCAA. Hosted by our resident professional photographer with a deep understanding of the area – Keith Connelly, this journey provides the tools, techniques, and inspiration to capture the essence of Africa’s wild heart.
WHY NDUTU NGORONGORO CRATER CONSERVATION AREA
Ndutu is the photographic jewel of Tanzania and see's the annual Wildebeest calving from late January to March every year. The area turns a rich green over this period that see's the aggregation of 1.4 million Wildebeest and Zebra and the predators that feast at this time of year. Ndutu offers perhaps the best lion & cheetah viewing and photography anywhere in Africa over this period, the rich colors
and dramatic skies make it a photographer's paradise.
Over the 6 nights guests will be private tutored by Keith including all aspects of wildlife photography as well as post production during the 6 nights. - All activities, meals, park fees, accommodation are included as well as usage of an open vehicle for all game activities. A typical day will include morning and evening Game Drives with a photo discussion and post production instruction in between drives.
Meet Keith
Keith Connelly renowned Wildlife Guide, Professional Photographer, Photographic Guide, Travel Addict and Sigma Brand Ambassador. Keith began his career as a guide working in the exclusive lodges of South Africa where he gained a great love for photography, but an even greater passion for the planet's wildlife and love for the personal experiences and the pure joy that capturing and sharing nature's best moments offer.
Keith is of the firm belief that extraordinary safaris and wildlife experiences are felt more by the heart and soul than seen or heard with eyes and ears. Capturing these wonderful natural moments is all about the experiences themselves leaving an indelible emotional memory that will last a lifetime.
Itinerary
Arrival and Introduction to the Ndutu – NCCA
The resident photographer will hold daily, hands-on workshops in the field, tailored to participants’ experience levels. From beginners learning camera basics to intermediate hobbyists looking to refine techniques, each session will focus on unique skills: framing, lighting, composition, and the art of capturing raw emotion in wildlife photography.
Morning:
Check in at Arusha airport for your flight to Ndutu airstrip - NCCA.
Upon arrival at Ndutu airstrip, you will be met by our Nyumbu Luxury Camp professional photographer and guide to greet you and offer a detailed briefing of the requirements and expectations. Your clicking will follow suite as you have a leisurely drive enroute to Camp. Nyumbu Luxury MigrationCamp, your home for the next six nights is nestled in a secluded area offering stunning views of Lake Masek.
Afternoon:
After a delicious lunch, unwind and soak in the ambiance of the Ndutu area. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon game drive to get the feel of the Ndutu – NCCA unique landscape. With luck you may be greeted with most of what the Serengeti has to offer.
Evening:
Return to camp to freshen up and unwind in the serenity of Nyumbu Camp’s luxurious accommodations, crafted to blend seamlessly with the landscape. This allows hobbyists to recharge and review their shots in a serene environment that feels like an extension of the Ndutu – NCCA. Thereafter join the rest of the guests at the camp fire for pre-dinner drinks you and your guide plan the for the next day’s course of action.
The Second day of Clicking away!
Morning:
A wake-up call will be placed accompanied by your choice beverage – hot chocolate, coffee or tea, proceeded with a hearty breakfast before setting off on a full-day game drive focused on witnessing the dramatic child bearing of the wildebeest in the open plains of Ndutu. The anticipation builds as you weave your way around amongst the thousands of wildebeests and zebra herds chewing on the fresh grass while complementing each other, the sight is out of this world. This sighting offers a magnificent picturesque.
Afternoon:
Enjoy a hamper lunch in the bush as you continue to follow the herds, hoping to witness the heart-pounding moment when the predator fraternity have woken up, active and are hungry for a meal. You may just be ready to witness a dramatic kill.
Evening:
Return to camp to freshen up and unwind in the serenity of Nyumbu Camp’s luxurious accommodations, crafted to blend seamlessly with the landscape. This allows hobbyists to recharge and review their shots in a serene environment that feels like an extension of the Ndutu – NCCA. Thereafter join the rest of the guests at the camp fire for pre-dinner drinks as you and your guide plan the for the next day’s course of action.
Optional Balloon Ride
Morning:
You have the option of booking a ballon flight (check the price with us upon booking)
Rise before dawn for a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon safari. Drift silently over the Serengeti as the sun rises, casting a golden glow over the landscape. From above, you may spot herds of wildebeest, elephants, and other wildlife moving across the plains. After landing, celebrate with a traditional champagne breakfast in the bush.
After the balloon flight you guide will be at hand to meet with and proceed for game drive for the rest of the morning and early afternoon.
Return to camp for a hot lunch
After lunch you can choose to have the afternoon at leisure or still go out on a short game drive.

Return to camp to freshen up and unwind in the serenity of Nyumbu Camp’s luxurious accommodations, crafted to blend seamlessly with the landscape. This allows hobbyists to recharge and review their shots in a serene environment that feels like an extension of the Ndutu – NCCA.
Later in the evening and weather permitting join the rest of the guests on sundowner, this offers another great opportunity of capturing the mighty sun as it walks home for the night as it throws golden colors offering great reflections and silhouettes for a great photo.
Return to camp for dinner and overnight
Exploration & Relaxation
Morning:
Another early start as you head out for a morning game drive, exploring different areas of the Ndutu. The early hours are perfect for spotting predators on the hunt and witnessing the morning routines of the plains’ animals. You may choose a breakfast hamper and leaver as early as 6 am once the first rays break through. This will take you until after midday to be back for a hot lunch and raise your feet.
Afternoon:
Return to camp for a leisurely lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the lounge or indulging in a massage treatment, enjoying the tranquility and luxury of the camp.
Evening:
Return to camp to freshen up and unwind in the serenity of Nyumbu Camp’s luxurious accommodations, crafted to blend seamlessly with the landscape. This allows hobbyists to recharge and review their shots in a serene environment that feels like an extension of the Ndutu – NCCA. Thereafter join the rest of the guests at the camp fire for pre-dinner drinks as you and your guide plan the for the next day’s course of action.
Last night of clicking away
Morning
Another early start and after breakfast you head out for a morning game drive, exploring different areas of the Ndutu. The early hours are perfect for spotting predators on the hunt and witnessing the morning routines of the plains’ animals. You may choose to combine this day with a visit to the Masai village for a cultural interaction. Culture makes another bigger % of the experience.
You can come back for a hot lunch at the camp.
Afternoon
Return to camp for a leisurely lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the lounge or indulging in a massage treatment, enjoying the tranquility and luxury of the camp or go out again for another and probably a final game viewing.
